Guolian hosted a press conference about its brand strategies and the plan to develop the domestic market in the Zhanjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center on June 18 with the support of Yuanben Yingxiao, a marketing company in Chengdu.
Around 200 people participated in the conference, including dealers and buyers from home and abroad.
Guolian’s seafood revenue has mostly come from international trading at present, but the company will find another profit source through its expansion in the domestic market, said people with knowledge of the company’s plans.
Overseas trade has generated above 90% of Guolian’s revenue since the company’s establishment, and according to statistics, Zhanjiang has played an important role in the international market of whiteleg shrimp, providing 40% of the total supplied shrimps, while about 1/6 of these shrimp have come from Guolian. This means Guolian has been responsible for 7% of all Chinese shrimp exports.
